At Phoenix Glass Center, a skilled instructor will guide you through the creation of piece of your choice. Get creative as you choose colors, manipulate designs, and shape your piece, while leaving the really hot stuff to the professionals.
glassblowing CLASSES - How IT WORKS
We offer private one time workshops that accommodate varying sized groups. These classes were created with novices in mind, no experience necessary!
Our 1 hour private class accommodates up 2 to people and is $160 total. In this class, students will learn about glass equipment and tools and then be guided through the creation of a piece of their choice with the assistance of an instructor. Piece choices for this class are a paperweight, heart, sun catcher, garden orb, cup or votive.
Our 3 hour private class accommodates up to 6 people and is $480 total. In this class, students will learn about glass equipment and tools and then be guided through the creation of a piece of their choice with the assistance of an instructor. Six pieces can be made in the 3 hour class, if smaller groups elect to take this class multiple pieces can be made. Piece choices for this class are a paperweight, heart, sun catcher, garden orb, cup or votive.

We offer seasonal workshops which are open to the public:
*Pumpkin workshops run September through November.
*Ornament workshops run November and December.
*Bowl workshops run January to June and are usually on a Wednesday at 5pm or a Sunday at 5pm.
The minimum age to participate in our glassblowing (experience) class is 8 years old. A parent or guardian must be present for youth participation, although they do not have to participate themselves.
All glass needs to cool down slowly, you cannot take your creation home with you the same day it is made. Pickup your pieces during our posted business hours.
Some important things to keep in mind for your hot shop glassblowing class:
- Please dress for comfort! Natural fiber clothing is preferred when working with glass (ie- cotton) but not required for our classes.
- Please wear close toed shoes! - this is required!
- We have a strict 7 day cancellation policy for all classes booked directly through our website: the deposit paid at booking becomes non refundable and non transferable within 7 days of the class- no exceptions, sorry.
- We have a strict 2 week cancellation policy for specially scheduled events/workshops/team builders/private parties.
- Please show up at least 10 minutes prior to the start of your class to allow for time to fill out paperwork and discuss the process.
- Late arrivals of 10 minutes or more may result in limiting piece choices and/or design choices. It's really important you're on time!
- We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone for any reason.
- Glass needs to cool slowly over time- you cannot take your pieces home the same day.
- This is about having fun!
- Student pickup times are during our posted business hours.

stained glass workshops
Choose from a variety of fun, beginner friendly single session stained glass workshops- no prior experience necessary and better yet, all tools and materials included!
Learn the traditional copper foil method as well as how to enhance your piece using both lead came and patina. Focus will be placed on accurately cutting straight lines in glass, using tools and equipment safely and properly, and completing your piece in the desired finish.

Our stained glass classes have an age restriction of 13 years old. All youths must have an adult accompanying for supervision.
fused glass workshops
Choose from a variety of fun, beginner friendly single session fused glass workshops- no prior experience necessary and better yet, all tools and materials included!
Learn to safely cut colored glass into the shapes and sizes you want under the guidance of an instructor. Then assemble your design on a clear or color glass base. We will fuse your colorful design in a kiln, making it one smooth piece. All materials are included in the class. From suncatchers and magnets to garden art and nightlights- let your creativity guide you!

Your finished piece will be ready for pickup at the studio 7 days after the date of your class. We are happy to ship your finished piece(s) for an additional charge.
